Before you start your home project, you’re likely doing some research on all the products you need to source out. You’re probably trying to figure out what paint is the best quality, what type of flooring is good for high-traffic areas, and what cabinetry company offers the right product for your space.
When you’re trying to find a cabinet company, you’ll probably encounter many options and the first step forward to decide which one is your better option, is finding out if they have what you need. That might be frameless cabinets, a specific wood veneer, a door style you like or even the ability to meet your budget. Once you do that, you’re still left with a few options. So, how can you figure out which company is the right one?
We’ve put together four filtering questions you can ask those cabinet companies. The right answer depends on what you’re looking for, but we’re hoping this will give you some guidance.
1. Where are your cabinets made?
Some cabinets are built right here in the USA, maybe in your same home state. This has great advantages at the moment of requesting a change order or claiming a warranty job. Other cabinets are sourced overseas, shipped to the U.S. in pieces, and then assembled here before they get to you. This increases the risks of damages on the way and a multi-step process when dealing with a warranty claim.
2. How are they made?
Some cabinets are mass-produced and others are made to order by hand. Some manufacturers use great quality construction materials. Some companies use staples to assemble the cabinets, others use glue and dowels, or screws. This speaks to the quality and durability of the products they offer.
3. Can they be modified to fit my space?
Some cabinets are built in standard sizes and this means they might not fit tightly in your space or due to the inability to customize the size of your cabinets, you may not be able to accomplish a symmetrical design. You can read our blog post where we explain the difference between Stock, Semi-Custom, and Custom Cabinets.
4. Do you have a good selection of finishes and door styles?
If you haven’t decided what finish and door style you need, it’s good to make sure they have a good book of options. Ask them to show you and make sure you like what you see.
Now that we’ve shared these questions to help you figure out what cabinet company is right for you, let us tell you what we have to offer.
We like to support the US economy, so all of our cabinets are made in the U.S.A. One of our manufacturers is a family owned company based out of Kansas with manufacturing facilities across the southeast, to include one right here in Tennessee. We also offer cabinets made by a company in Princeton, MN, and another one in Denver, CO.
We offer cabinets from a few different manufacturers who offer different lines. These include stock, semi-custom, custom, framed, and frameless cabinets. Having all these lines available allows us to offer different price points, material and finish selections, as well as a range of lead times and build each project based on our client’s needs.
These locally made cabinets are cut from high quality stock, built, and finished by local craftsmen. Our manufacturers use state of the art manufacturing and finishing techniques to create furniture-quality cabinetry. Their attention to detail provides a level of quality far above many other brands.
We encourage you to keep these questions in mind when you’re comparing different cabinet companies and we hope they help you make your pick and get your beautiful projects done just the way you need.
